What is Arthroscopy?
It is a minimally invasive key-hole surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. During the surgery, a small 4mm sized camera called an ‘arthroscope’ is inserted into the joint through a key-hole incision.
The camera sends images of the joint to a monitor screen, allowing the surgeon to clearly see all the structures inside the joint. In addition to diagnosing various problems, the surgeon can also use specialized instruments to perform repair of damaged tissue.
